چکیده

Background This study was aimed to evaluate the regional hierarchical brain atrophy among preclinical mild cognitive impairment (MCI) stages of Alzheimer’s disease associated with amyloid deposition using [18F]flutemetamol positron emission tomography and volumetric magnetic resonance imaging. Method a prospective, single-cohort volunteers who were living independently in Itabashi-ku (Tokyo, Japan). One hundred thirty-six participants (female/male = 96/40, mean age/standard deviation 79.2/4.0 years) recruited. Two subjects, one meningeal thickening another sequelae brain, 17 visually amyloid-negative MCI subjects possibly had neurodegenerative other than excluded from further analysis. We applied voxel-based regression slope analysis between composite voxel interest values calculated Cortex ID Suite (GE Healthcare) on images three groups: 70 cognitively normal (CN) participants, 29 amyloid-positive (PreC) 18 (MCI+) participants. Statistical Parametric Mapping 12 software used for Result Even stage, PreC group showed larger basal forebrain middle frontal gyri CN group. In MCI+ group, slopes lateral medial parietal lobes, uncus, right temporal areas. Conclusion The speed amyloid-related quick even stage disease. As no significant changes observed groups area, except well-known early might not be related accumulation amyloid.

Basal forebrain atrophy correlates with amyloid β burden in Alzheimer's disease

The brains of patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease (AD) have three classical pathological hallmarks: amyloid-beta (Aβ) plaques, tau tangles, and neurodegeneration, including that of cholinergic neurons of the basal forebrain. However the relationship between Aβ burden and basal forebrain degeneration has not been extensively studied. To investigate this association, basal forebrain volum...

Regional brain amyloid-β accumulation associates with domain-specific cognitive performance in Parkinson disease without dementia

Parkinson disease patients develop clinically significant cognitive impairment at variable times over their disease course, which is often preceded by milder deficits in memory, visuo-spatial, and executive domains. The significance of amyloid-β accumulation to these problems is unclear. We hypothesized that amyloid-β PET imaging by 18F-florbetapir, a radiotracer that detects fibrillar amyloid-...

Poststroke cerebral peduncular atrophy correlates with a measure of corticospinal tract injury in the cerebral hemisphere.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Methods have not been well developed and tested to predict the extent of remote degeneration in the central nervous system that follows cerebral infarction. We hypothesized that the extent of infarction overlap with the cerebral hemispheric course of the corticospinal tract (CST) on structural MR imaging predicts the extent of ipsilateral cerebral peduncular atrophy in pa...

Deletion of Abca7 increases cerebral amyloid-β accumulation in the J20 mouse model of Alzheimer's disease.

ATP-binding cassette transporter A7 (ABCA7) is expressed in the brain and has been detected in macrophages, microglia, and neurons. ABCA7 promotes efflux of lipids from cells to apolipoproteins and can also regulate phagocytosis and modulate processing of amyloid precursor protein (APP) to generate the Alzheimer's disease (AD) amyloid-β (Aβ) peptide. Genome-wide association studies have indicat...
